Validation Services.

At SES we offer two types of Validation Services together with our Disaster Recovery Planning; the details of these are explained individually below;

Please note that we cannot deposit any Source Code without the minimum Basic Validation Service, however, this is included in the initial set-up cost.

Complete Validation

The Complete Validation service is a more comprehensive approach than Basic Validation, and involves an SES consultant based on the site of the software developer/provider. The role of the SES consultant in the Complete Validation is to ensure that the source code on the media supplied is present and correct. Also, that it can be built into the target application as expected by the client.

Whilst the Basic Validation service is a straightforward process that is likely to take a similar amount of time for most applications, the Complete Validation Services is likely to vary, depending on the size of the application in question. Please contact an SES Consultant to discuss this in more detail.

Basic Validation

The Basic Validation confirms that the media supplied contains the correct software and that all attributes of the supplied software are correct and in line with what was expected. The checks that are carried out are summarised below;

• Check the Source Code is apparent on the Media
• If any files on the media are compressed. Ensure they can be de-compressed
• Assess whether any files on the media are encrypted; if encryption is detected, it will ensure that the files can be decrypted and the method will be noted and returned
• Check all passwords are correct
• Scan supplied media for viruses
• Check that source code files can be retrieved; a sample number of files shall be viewed to ensure that they can be retrieved
• If any of the above checks fail, the provider of software will be notified and asked to provide a replacement, which will be retested
• Further checks will be made to complete the process
